  • Fiona Valintine
    Certified Vet Nurse

    After studying in New South Wales to become a certified Veterinary Nurse, Fiona worked at a small animal clinic in Sydney for 6 years. She then moved to Queensland with her young family in 2002.

    Fiona has been working at the Jimboomba Vet Surgery since 2007. Her work interests primarily include critical care management, as well as small animal anaesthetics.

    Fiona enjoys showing her ponies on weekends, and is an occasional cat groomer for the clinic.

     

  • Melissa Forrest
    Certified Vet Nurse

    Melissa has been working at the Jimboomba Vet Surgery since 2009 and is a fully qualified Veterinary Nurse completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing in 2012. She has a Bachelor of Agribusiness Marketing from Curtin University, and spent 10 years working around Australia with one of the largest dairy companies in the nation before joining the JVS team.

    Melissa’s primary work interests include medical nursing and surgical nursing.

    Melissa is originally from rural Western Australia where she was brought up with a variety of animals. Currently, Melissa shares her home with her beloved dogs Milo, Bailey, Roxy and Gemma, her cute cat Toby, and her horses Mickey and Filly.

     

  • Sally O'Donohue
    Certified Vet Nurse

    Sally has been a Vet Nurse since 2009. She has a Diploma of Science in Wilderness Reserves and Wildlife, and is a fully qualified Vet Nurse, completing Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing. Her primary work interests include neonatal care, emergency nursing care and surgical nursing.

    A keen traveller, Sally has visited Europe, as well as travelling through South Africa numerous times over the last several years.

    Sally shares her home with her cat Siren, who was brought into the clinic as a tiny kitten after being found in a drain. After diligently bottle-feeding her until she was old enough to be weaned, Sally then decided to adopt Siren, who is now a happy and healthy cat.

     

  • Mandy Tapp
    Certified Vet Nurse

    Mandy started grooming dogs in New Zealand at the age of 16 and eventually succeeded in creating her own grooming business at 22. In addition to this, she worked at the Native Bird Recovery Centre in her own time, rescuing and caring for native wildlife.

    After moving to Australia in 2001, Mandy continued rescuing and caring for Australian wildlife, as is her passion. In 2008, she then started working as a Vet Nurse at the Jimboomba Vet Surgery. In the same year, Mandy completed a Diploma in Animal Care as well as a Diploma in Animal Behaviour. In addition to working as a dog groomer for her own business and carrying out her Vet Nurse duties for the clinic, on weekends Mandy was also a puppy pre-school instructor.

    Mandy’s primary work interests include neonatal care, wildlife, animal behaviour and grooming.

     

  • Ptiika Wandel
    Certified Vet Nurse

    Ptiika joined the JVS team in September 2013, as a trainee Veterinary Nurse. She has since finished studying her Cert IV in Veterinary Nursing and is now studying at the University of Queensland in Gatton with the vision of becoming a Veterinarian. 

    Her primary work interests include surgical nursing, neonatal care and striving to provide great customer care!

    She has an extremely lovable Australian Bulldog named Duke and an Italian Greyhound named Alfie. She is also the proud mum of Binx, the Ragdoll mix who was dumped outside of the clinic when he was a kitten. 

     

     

  • Tegan Mulcahy
    Vet Nurse

    Tegan joined the Jimboomba Vet Surgery team in November 2014, she is currently completing her Certificate IV in Veterinary Nursing through TAFE.

    Her favourite things about being a Vet Nurse primarily include emergency nursing care and medical procedures.

    Tegan is the proud mum of a cat Salty that she rescued from the clinic, a Dalmatian Ziggy and a Border Collie Zuri. 

  • Lauren Farmers
    Veterinary Technician

    Lauren graduated from the University of Queensland in 2014 with a Bachelor of Veterinary Technology.  

    She has been with us since she finished and has a keen interest in large animal medicine.  

    Lauren works at both our Jimboomba and Beaudesert clinics.  In her spare time you can find her on a netball court somewhere or helping her parents out on their family farm.

    Lauren is the proud owner of 7 working kelpies (Peanut, Sheba, Ruby, Maisey, Sandy, Dusty, Jay, and Murray), 1 Indian Ringneck named Jack and a chestnut gelding, Buddy.

  • Lydia Adams
    Certified Vet Nurse

    Lydia became a Veterinary Nurse in 2007 and was working at a busy clinic in Sydney before joining the Jimboomba Vet Surgery Team in 2014. 

    She is a keen traveller, with New Zealand being one of her favourite destinations.

    Lydia is extremely passionate about our feline friends, owning 4 of her own along with Eddy the Cattle Dog mix and Dudley the French Bulldog.

  • Claire Stewart
    Certified Vet Nurse

    Claire started her Vet Nursing Career in 1995 right here at Jimboomba Vet.  Over the past couple of decades she has worked at a variety of different Veterinary clinics and hospitals, both here in SE QLD and in Canberra, ACT.  

    She returns to her old position here at JVS as a well learnt Veterinary Nurse with a great wealth of experience to share.  

    When she's not at work Claire will be found riding her Waler horses or entertaining her menagerie of cats, dogs and sheep.
